Cost cutting: I did this in 2000, so no idea if prices are still the
same. In *my* opinion.

OK! I suppose it'd be handy to let you know we're all 20-21. Barcelona. Make the most of this, coz the prices
go up dramatically as you head west.

Greece is ok, but the islands are very expensive, and crowded at that time
of year.

Go up through Bulgaria (no visa) and Romania (visa req. Just zig-zag all
over europe as the mood takes you.

nbsp;France:
nbsp;Whats worth seeing in Mediterreanean France? Is Nice worth a few days?
nbsp;Marseille? Monaco?

All of them.

nbsp;Would Barcelona-Madrid-Cadiz-Lisbon-Bilbao-San Sebastian be a good
nbsp;route?

As good as any, I suppose. Either way, if
you are going as a group of three, you will all probably hate each others
guts by the end of it no matter which way you go. Then make your way up to
London via Paris.

The only certainty of what we want to do is Oktoberfest, so we'll need
to be in Munich in late September. Clearly,
nbsp;gt;we're on a budget.

nbsp; How much time would we need to spend in Paris to see it well? Any tips

Paris: spend as much time there as you like, it won't bore you. Are there good Hostels in a
nbsp;central area near the major train station? Is Bordeaux good?
nbsp;Spain + Portugal:
nbsp;Is San Sebastian good? Sevilla? Bilbao?
nbsp;Would Barcelona-Madrid-Cadiz-Lisbon-Bilbao-San Sebastian be a good
nbsp;route?
nbsp;East:
nbsp;Whats worth seeing in Hungary, apart from Budapest? Is there much of a
nbsp;language barrier?
nbsp; What would be a good plan for a week in the Czech Republic? Cesky
nbsp;Krumlov and Prague, or check out some other stuff?

Seeings as you are Aussies interested in beer, fun, and saving cash, I would
say go via Eastern Europe.3 of us have tickets into Athens on July 15 or so, and out of London
in late October.

But with the rail pass, and low budget, you'll probably be sleeping on
trains a lot, so you dont need an efficient route.we really don't have much of an idea of where to go.

I would also highly recommend 3 weeks in Turkey to. Valencia. Personally, I dislike Monaco - snobby, and not that nice to
look at.

From there, Oktoberfest is a stones throw away. Are there good Hostels in a
nbsp;central area near the major train station? Is Bordeaux good?nbsp;Spain + Portugal:
nbsp;Is San Sebastian good? Sevilla? Bilbao?

All of them. It'll be fun.). Madrid.

Knock yourself out suggesting

There ought to be many hostels, but I've never checked on them. Don't
miss out on Sacre Coeur. We'll all have a 3 month unlimited Eurail pass, and
around 4000 Euro.

nbsp;on cost cutting? I hear its expensive. Beer is ridiculously cheap, it's much, much less
touristy. But we found a very nice 3-star motel at the peripherie close to
Porte d'Orleans, 10 mins walk to the metro and very reasonably priced at
about 25 EUR per person/night. Roma, Firenze, Cinque Terre, Sicily (great!!!). These are both
poor nations, but really cool anyway, esp Romania.--

Maybe spend some days at Balaton lake? Quite pleasant.

Hi,

frankly, you'll need to do more research on your own.

nbsp; What would be a good plan for a week in the Czech Republic? Cesky
nbsp;Krumlov and Prague, or check out some other stuff?

Sounds ok.
nbsp;gt;You'll probably just be coralled with all the other loud, drunken
nbsp;gt;Australians. Aussies and Turks get
along really well together coz they shot at each other a few years ago, and
right now it's really cheap. Europe is quite a
big place, and densely populated (many cities!) and asking what's worth
seeing in Europe? is a bit like asking what's worth seeing in
Australia/Canada/USA. Every Australian raves about their trip to
Turkey.

The alternative would be to go the Mediteranean route, which will require
fewer visas, but are much more expensive/touristy/crowded. You name it. Clearly,
we're on a budget. Clearly,
nbsp;we're on a budget.

Czech Republic is great (yeah, you still need visas), and you could easily
lose a week or two in Cesky Crumlov. Really depends what else you want to see, what
you're after, landscape/nature/cities etc.we really don't have much of an idea of where to go. Why bother, when you can do that at home?
nbsp;gt;Now.we really don't have much of an idea of where to go. Karlovy Vary, maybe?
