Sleeping compartments have up to three
nbsp;gt;bunks on one side along with a sink/vanity on the other side. I
grant that the lower bed in a sleeping compartment is different
from the upper one or two beds. If you book a couchette bunk you will probably share the
compartment with strangers. I

sure what you mean by the difference between a bunk and a bed. In fact,
peeking into the couchettes it looked to me as if they were
identical to what we had in our compartments. You get one blanket and one sheet.
You'll find some real annoying details as holders for the curtains and other
things disturbing in the couchette. Certain fast trains do require seat
reservations, and they are generally included as part of the
ticket price, rather like regular airline tickets.

You might check the Swiss rail site for tickets from Interlaken
to Venice.

I'd do it upon arrival in Amsterdam. And you get a bottom and top sheet, and sufficient blankets. The sleepers we've used have
had the same sort of drop-down-from-the-wall beds and mattress
pads that seem to be used in the couchettes, and since they are
cantilevered off the wall I would consider them bunks.
